2014 RPA Otology Skills & Temporal Bone Course - Sat-Sun May 3rd-4th


Date -Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th  May 2014, RPA Hospital ENT Department level 8.


Visiting Guest of Honour: Mr David A. Moffat, Otoneurological & Skull Base Surgeon, Cambridge University Hospitals, Cambridge, UK.


- 2 full days of entertaining curriculum and hands-on skills and dissection, supervised by RPA otologists

- skills stations with focus on specific areas of clinical otology eg bone anchored implants, newer bone conduction implantation solutions, cochlear implantation, temporal bone otoscopy, facial nerve analysis etc.

- plenary talks from Mr David Moffat

- round table case discussions

Course Overview:


In addition to up to 8 hours of supervised dissection over 2 days on up to 2 bones in the RPAH Temporal Bone Laboratory, we will build on the new format started in 2013: to include engaging hands-on skills stations, when not dissecting in the Lab, and round table case discussions. Our visiting guest of honour, Mr David Moffat will be providing gems and wisdom throughout.


Accreditation:


Dissectors: 16 hours of Category 4 - Maintenance of Clinical Knowledge and Skills (1 point per hour)

Non Dissectors: 12 hours of Category 4 - Maintenance of Clinical Knowledge and Skills (1 point per hour)

Each participant will receive a certificate noting dissections completed. Advanced Surgical Trainees will be accredited for dissection steps completed.

Dissectors             AU $1,750.00

Non dissectors     AU $   500.00
